Tell us a little about yourself:
I am a person who loves to help others unlock and recognise their true potential. Working in the education sector for over 16 years has enabled me to fulfil this passion however, I am now eager to accomplish this in a more private and personalised capacity, which is why I am currently retraining as a Psychotherapist.
I enjoy being creative but equally thrive when creating systems and processes that work efficiently.
Peace, balance and harmony are incredibly important to the way in which I function – which is why floating is an essential part of my life.
What brought you to Float in the Forest?
I was curious about floating whilst living abroad and was due to return back to the UK for a visa run.
In April 2019, I started researching float centres in the Gloucestershire area and Float in the Forest came up! I was impressed by the fact that Float in the Forest was solely dedicated to floatation therapy and as a result, this swayed my decision to book my first ever float here.
What’s your favourite part of your role?
I love all aspects of my role at Float in the Forest, it’s a wonderful entity to be part of.
I take great pride in knowing that our primary mission is to empower people to transcend suffering and explore new possibilities. I also love the way in which the float centre naturally awakens a sense of presence and consciousness from within, whether working at the centre, or stopping by for a float, the ability to completely tune in and anchor myself in the here and now is always incredibly welcomed.
What would you tell someone who is apprehensive about floating?
Firstly, I would say thank your body for protecting you from the unknown, the feeling of apprehension is completely normal.
Secondly, I would suggest trusting the float tank. Magically, it knows how to hold you, keep you safe and give you exactly what you need on each and every float.
Favourite float position?
Arms above my head always – and relax!
What is your favourite colour light for the float room?
It depends on the room. If I float in Serenity then I prefer a deep dark blue, if I float in Infinity then I prefer a brilliantly vibrant purple.
Do you float with the light on or off?
Light off before I’ve even led down. Interestingly, in normal life, I’m not particularly a fan of the dark and always tend to sleep with a soothing Himalayan salt lamp on. Yet in the float tank, darkness is paramount for me.
Tea or coffee?
Tea all round – Yorkshire Tea in the morning, Indian Masala Chai Tea mid afternoon and Pukka Peace Herbal Tea in the evening!
Favourite place in nature?
I love everything about nature! I particularly love forest landscapes and being immersed among grounding fractal patterns.
Equally, I love being next to bodies of water: waterfalls, lakes, the ocean – there is something incredibly soothing and tranquil about water, which is perfectly fitting when in the float tank too.
One thing people might not know about you:
I am a nomad at heart, it fills me with a sense of aliveness. Not all those who wander are lost.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
You are not your thoughts or emotions, they are only merely passing through, observe them but don’t let them consume you.
Keria
