At home, washing is a task.

It’s something to squeeze in between work, dinner and the constant mental note that you “should really wash your hair tonight”.

Even when we do it, we rush. We half enjoy it while already thinking about what’s next.

In a float session, washing isn’t an afterthought. It’s part of the experience.

And that changes how it feels in both the body and the mind.

The first shower.

Before you float, you shower properly.

Not the distracted kind where you’re thinking about emails or the time, but a deliberate one. The products are all there. They’re the same brand. They smell good together. No decisions.

This first shower is about arriving. You’re rinsing off the outside world. The day. Other people’s expectations. Even the sense of urgency we carry without noticing.

For many people, this is the first moment they slow down.

Warm water, familiar scents and no need to hurry. The nervous system begins to shift before you even step into the pod.

Then comes the float itself.

This is where self-care becomes almost passive.

The body is supported completely. Muscles don’t need to hold you up. Joints decompress. The spine gets a rest from gravity. The mind no longer has to respond to noise or light.

You don’t do anything in the pod, and that’s the point.

While you float, your body is cared for in a way that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. The magnesium rich water supports physical recovery, while the stillness allows the mind to process what it’s been carrying.

It’s rest that doesn’t ask anything of you.

The second shower.

After the float, you shower again.

And this one feels different.

There’s no rush to get back to reality.

You have time to notice the warmth of the water. To care for your skin instead of scrubbing on autopilot.

The same products. The same scent. A sense of continuity.

This shower seals the experience. It grounds you back into your body gently.

People often leave feeling not just relaxed, but looked after,

by the space,

by the process

and by themselves.
