Welcome to Float in the Forest!

Beyond relaxation

A place you can truly rest, a time which is yours alone

What is floatation?

Floatation (or ‘floating’) is a type of relaxation therapy.

You float effortlessly on the surface of warm water saturated with Epsom salt, which gives a feeling of weightlessness.

Your body will be so buoyant that there is no pressure anywhere, so you can release your muscle tensions and relax into a blissful state.

Why float?

There are many beneficial effects of floatation.  Perhaps most striking is the deep relaxation you will feel, in both body and mind.  Hand in hand with this comes a profound stress relief, and an escape from the busyness of your life.

Some people float because it gives them relief from the chronic pain of conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, back pain and sciatica.

Many sportspeople use floating to help with sports rehabilitation and an aid to their training.

Floatation can also help to calm the mind, including as an aid to meditation.

Others use it to help improve their sleep.

Relaxation is good for you, and is fun!

But what if I get claustrophobic?

Some people worry that they might feel claustrophobic before they first float (and that is understandable), but they end up feeling safe and comfortable.

We would like to reassure you that you are in control of your experience. You can get out whenever you wish, and you can choose to leave the door open and the light on if you wish. The pods are quite spacious, about the size of a small car. Our advice would be to give it a try – we think you will be very pleasantly surprised. In fact, you probably won’t want to get out at the end!
