Why float in summer?
Great question! Here are just a few reasons to quench your curiosity…
Explore nature with senses reawakened
Firstly of course there is our location in the beautiful Forest of Dean. So, one lovely thing about floating here during the summer, is the option to explore nature afterwards with your senses reawakened by your float.
Go for a walk, or even just sit by the trees. Notice the sights, sounds and smells of the forest in your newly relaxed state.
If you fancy a walk amongst the trees right from the float centre, check out this video where Shari shows you just how close to the trees we are…
There’s also a wealth of amazing areas where you can explore nature just a short drive away in the Forest, including Mallards Pike, Cannop Ponds, and Nagshead Nature Reserve, to mention just a few.
Recover from exercise
Do you find you’re more active in the summer? Of course it doesn’t have to be this way, but many of us get out and exercise more in the summer months.
The Forest is a perfect place to go walking, running, riding your bike, and many other activities to make the most of our wonderful green surroundings… and if it’s sunny weather, then even better!
As a result we may find in the summer that our muscles need more downtime and recovery too. Rest those aching muscles with a soothing, relaxing float. Then you’ll be ready quicker get back out there for another adventure!
Enjoy the light afterwards
With the lighter evenings in the summer, you can come for a float even in the evening and there’s still light afterwards.
You could make the most of your blissful post-float feeling to relax in the garden (or pub garden) or maybe go for wander in the trees… of course you may just want to get in your pyjamas and curl up at home, and that’s fine too!
Holiday
Are you going on holiday? Come for a float to wind down first – we’ve had lots of people do that and say it’s the ideal way to shed your daily worries and start your holiday in style.
If you’re not going on holiday, then no worries, several people have said that a float is like a mini holiday itself: it’s so restful that it’s almost as good!
