The fourth winning hero!
Our ‘Float Your Hero’ competition is running every fortnight throughout the time that we are temporarily closed.
This competition recognises amazing local heroes. The heroes have been nominated by someone who admires what they do for their community. They could be be NHS staff, other types of keyworker, volunteering, or helping their community in other ways during this strange time.
The winning heroes receive a free float gift card (with an extended expiry date). This float is our way of recognising what they do, and gives them something relaxing to look forward to when we’re able to re-open.
Thank you to everyone who nominated their hero in this round, every single one is inspiring.
We couldn’t choose between them, so we picked the winner at random.
Here’s a little video of Will picking the winner! And so this week’s winner is….
Miriam Evans!
Congratulations to Miriam and thank you to Ingrid for nominating her.
Says Ingrid:
“Miriam is a nurse in Gloucester hospital and has been on the very frontline, working in the covid ward. She is the most beautiful person, any patient who was in her care is very lucky to have her nursing them.
Her mum and dad are not in the best of health, but she comes home and helps out always with a smile on her face. In fact I’ve never seen her with a cross word to day. In my eyes she is definitely a hero worthy of one of your fantastic floats 💜”
That’s wonderful. Miriam – we have a float with your name on it!
Who’ll be the next Float Hero?
If you didn’t nominate your hero this time – please do join in!
Each hero can only win once.
You can nominate one person in each round. It could be the same person each time, or it could be different people.
If your hero didn’t win this time, and you’d like them to be in with another chance of winning, fill in the form to nominate them again in the next round.
We just ask you to fill in a webform to nominate your hero. Completing the webform is the only way to enter this competition.
It doesn’t take long. You’ll tell us briefly about your hero, including a minimum of 100 words about why you think they should win.
Nominate your hero here:
The next hero will be drawn on Friday 19th June.
Make sure that you sign up to our email newsletter, so you don’t miss the next winner and other updates from the float centre.
We looking forward to receiving your nominations for the next round… thanks and good luck!
